Kazakhstan
Raw materials, metalworking and a rail corridor that beats sea freight on lead time.
Kazakhstan combines a raw materials base with metalworking and industrial zones that have grown fast in recent years, helped by government programmes driving investment in manufacturing. For semi finished goods and metal components that is a serious option.
The Middle Corridor, by rail across the Caspian Sea towards Europe, beats sea freight on lead time. In our calculations a rail shipment usually comes out at around three weeks door to door, with less price volatility than air freight.
What to watch: routes and counterparties call for a careful check against sanctions policy, and the lead time varies with the transhipment points. We build the file so your bank and customs get through it without questions.
What we do here
For each project we establish together which parts you need. This is what usually belongs to it in Kazakhstan.
- Country and cluster comparison for metal components
- Route comparison with total landed cost
- Sanctions file per party and route involved
- Playbook and support for the first shipment
