Kyrgyzstan has a garment sector built up out of many small companies. That means short changeover times and a willingness to take on limited runs: interesting for brands that want to adjust a collection without being tied to container volumes.
Prices are low and the willingness to think along is high, but the level of organisation differs sharply per workshop. A company that delivered excellently last season may have a different team six months later.
What to watch: an audit beforehand and inspection per run matter more here than elsewhere. We therefore keep a fixed inspection rhythm instead of a sample afterwards.
