Quality & production support
The sample is almost always good. It is about the second, third and tenth run.
What it involves
We record the specification with tolerance and acceptance criteria, guide the sample rounds and only release the first run once it demonstrably complies. After that we keep a fixed rhythm: inspection before shipment, sampled or full, depending on what the product calls for.
What happens between the runs matters just as much. Fixed production reporting from the shop floor and an agreed route for deviations prevent you from discovering only at unpacking that something has changed.
